The STREAM Department

  • Science is taught everyday at IPSNA.  Students will attend a lab class once a week in Natural Science courses and field study once a week in social science.  Students will participate in the beginning of the year Science Fair.  Students first trimester will always be civics.  Students will conduct and debunk Social Science theories as well as attend lectures regularly.  Students will be required to join a charity of their choice and volunteer for a specific amount of hours per month in accordance to grade level.

  • Technology is used in every class and ways to maximize their understanding and benefit of these systems, its programming, and function are explored weekly.  Beginning in the 6th grade the weekly lesson will be centered around the first AI Technology curriculum ever to be implemented in Washington DC.

  • Engineering opportunities occur every week in every class.  Students will have the ability to create their understanding of all concept to display their grasp of the material.

  • Math Disciplines expound on the Common Core Mathematics Standards by enveloping Finance, Investment, Statistics, and Economics into the curriculum.  The Students will be given a Finance Portfolio which they must demonstrate proficiency in finance diversification as part of their final grade.

  • Field study/Lectures will occur monthly and overnight field trips will take place once every school year

*4th Grade at IPSNA is considered a transition year.  Students will meet with the Student Transition Counselor during school hours.
